48 Hours in Paris
What do you do when you're traveling through one European country and your boyfriend is traveling through another? You meet up in Paree of course! Coincidentally, Mike went to a conference in London last weekend, while I was on my way to Stockholm, so we booked a romantic date at my all-time favorite city! I've been to Paris many times, but I still love every aspect of it, and friends and family at home call me a francophile. Maybe it's the Viet-French influence from my family (my grandmother fed me pate when I was 7, and I started drinking coffee when I was 8), because I've always been in love with France and everything French! As for foodies, well, it's a gastronomic paradise here...cheeses, escargots, foie gras, petit fours, flaky croissants, tarte tatins, macaroons...what's not to love?
Meeting up at the Arc de Triomphe
Le Tour Eiffel
Place de la Concorde
Champs Elysees
Miguel at the Notre Dame
The rose window, beautiful as always
View of Paris from the top of the Notre Dame
Miguel with the gargoyle
Me with the gargoyle
Quasimodo rings the bell
Breathtaking, isn't it?
and now...the foodie pics...
French onion soup with melted gruyere cheese
Veal...so tender and yummy
Warm tarte tatin
Escargots
Afternoon tea at the Four Seasons George V - my favorite hotel in the world!
I love the hotel's elegant and classic French style interiors
The floral designs at the George V are by Jeff Leatham, formal fashion model turned floral designer. He's known for displaying flowers out of the water, bending long stems inside clear glass vases for dramatic effects
Macaroons!!!!!!
When was the last time you had gyros in Beijing?
CHOMP! CHOMP! CHOMP!
Hungry?
