It's a beautiful day in the Jing today!!! In celebration of Easter Weekend/Tomb Sweeping Day, my friends and I have a jam packed weekend of activities. We have baking class at The Fig Tree this afternoon, followed by girls night out at Xiu tonight, and then we're going to hike Great Wall on Monday!!! Looking forward to all the activities :)
But first, just want to capture my foodie experience from last night. Mike and I went to Rumi, a Persian restaurant, last night to enjoy some good old kebabs, wine and a hookah :). Both of us have been really stressed and busy lately, so all we wanted to do last night was eat a yummy meal and unwind.
We kicked off the meal with a plate of hummus and an eggplant/fava bean salad. I read online that Rumi serves the best hummus in town - it was definitely yummy, but I might argue that Argo serves better hummus :). The eggplant/fava bean salad was refreshing and tasty as well - a nice, healthier balance to our upcoming meat feast.
We ordered two dishes for our entrees - a beef/spinach stew (sorry, forgot the name) that resembled Steve's pork vindaloo (although Steve's dish was better!), and chicken/lamb kebabs served with rice.
Both dishes were delicious - the meats were very tender and infused with flavors. With the hummus, salad, and meat dishes, both Mike and I stuffed our faces and stomachs...to the point where it almost felt uncomfortable, haha. We finished dinner off with a strawberry flavored hookah, before we walked over to Bodhi, indulged in 80-minute foot massages and stumbled back home.
